Arnold General & Cosmetic DentistryInteriors for new dental facility located in an independent building totaling 5,998 usable square feet. Our goal was to create an environment invoking the feeling of relaxation present in Rosemary Beach and along Highway 30A on the Gulf Coast of Florida’s Panhandle. The dentist and patients are surrounded by materials, lighting, millwork, and art that deliver a high-end beach aesthetic in calm, soothing atmosphere not often present in dentist’s offices. The reception area sets the tone for the space with natural stone pavers underfoot, rough-hewn beams overhead, and surrounded by bead board wainscoting and natural woven wall covering. Our client did not want a sterile-feeling, traditional commercial reception, so the space is holistically designed to suggest a comfortable beachside living room, complete with bookshelves for ample reading material. The client’s wife is an artist with a deep love and appreciation for contemporary art, so we delivered a mixture of contemporary art and photography consistent with the high-end beach theme with driftwood and seascape motifs. For lighting, gas lantern style wall pendants and natural light reaffirm the Rosemary Beach aesthetic without being overly derivative. The sconces and woven wall covering convey a soothing rhythm down the halls of the clinic and promote continuity of the seaside homelike feeling present in the reception.
